When home I usually deep fry at least 2 turkeys. For sides we have mashed potatos, corn, green beans, stuffing, rolls, cranberry sauce, sweet potatos, and gravy.

This year I am dining at a DFAC...... yecch!

Wonder how that paranoia things working out for them now? They will be back out soon..

I have always found it disrespectful to Thanksgiving when people put up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving has even arrived.

The mail clerk just informed me that people sending packages should leave out Kandahar Afghanistan in our mailing address, otherwise it could end up in the Afghan postal system and be delayed, or worse it could be lost permanently.

They are a great program, but they give only to active duty personnel. The people I supervise are government contractors.

As most of you know, I am deployed here in Afghanistan. I have 30 FSRs (Field Service Representatives) that I am responsible for, and many of them do/have not received any packages to date. As a result, I have been sharing some of the goodies that my wife sends with these guys, but there never seems to be enough to go around.
So, I would like to ask the good people of Pulaski County to send some care for these guys. Sure, they may not be active duty soldiers, (all but one of them is an active duty veteran.) but they are over here supporting the war effort.
 
If you are interested in making some of this great group of guy's day, please feel free to send a care package their way. I will be more than happy to take pictures of their smiling faces as they open them, and post them here for all to see with a thank-you to the sender.
 
Ideas are baked goods, cheap dollar toys, candy, dried fruits, nuts, individual drink mixes, notes from school kids, basically anything you may want to send.
