Dixon head-on crash sends driver to Columbia by helicopter on MondayDIXON, Mo. (Oct. 20, 2009) — A head-on wreck late Monday afternoon sent two drivers to hospitals, one with serious injuries that required emergency transport by helicopter. Dixon firefighters and Dixon Ambulance District personnel received a report about 4:45 p.m. that a crash northeast of Dixon on Highway 28 near Highway MM had sent one car into the treeline and that people were trapped inside. Rescue personnel found a silver 1999 Mercedes SUV driven by Janna M. Mosley, 39, of Saint Robert, had overturned, run off the east side of the roadway, and come to rest on its wheels in the treeline. According to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, Mosley had been southbound on Highway 28 when she crossed the centerline in a curve and struck a 1999 Ford Explorer nearly head-on that was driven by Catherine G. Thomas, 22, of Dixon. Thomas suffered only minor injuries; Mosley’s Mercedes was totaled.
