Four wrecks last week injure six people near or from Saint Robert
SAINT ROBERT, Mo. (Oct. 29, 2009) — Four separate crashes last week near St. Robert or involving St. Robert residents wrecked seven vehicles and sent six people to area hospitals with a variety of injuries. According to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, April M. Adams, 19, of Cuba, had been westbound on Interstate 44 just east of the Phelps/Pulaski county line eight miles away from St. Robert when she ran her 1998 Chrysler off the left side of the roadway at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, struck the median cable barrier, and suffered moderate injuries. On Thursday, St. Robert resident Lori L. Peterson, 47, was driving her 2003 Ford Taurus southbound on Highway 17 southwest of Fort Leonard Wood two miles north of the Texas-Laclede county line when she ran off the right edge of the road at 2:10 p.m., overcorrected, skidded off the left side of the road, and struck an embankment, suffering minor injuries. Sgt. Butch Hohman of the St. Robert Police Department said this week that he doesn’t yet have complete information about a Friday afternoon crash in front of the Road Ranger truck stop at the junction of Highway 28 and Interstate 44 that sent two people to General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital with undetermined injuries. Based on information gathered at the crash scene, a black Dodge Caliber SUV and a white Ford F-150 pickup both sustained front-end damage; both injured people were from the SUV. Last week’s final wreck involving St. Robert residents happened on Saturday in Phelps County when Frances L. Skouby, 61, of St. Robert, was eastbound approaching the stop sign at the intersection of Eisenhower and Highway T in Doolittle at 11:02 a.m., pulled his 2001 Buick Regal into the path of a northbound 1995 Geo Prism driven by Laurance E. Lee, 43, of Newburg, and was struck. Skouby’s vehicle then spun and struck a westbound 2005 Dodge Ram driven by Barbara A. Guyton, 48, of Doolittle. Skouby and Lee both suffered minor injuries. In an unrelated incident, state troopers arrested Benjamin B. Woody, 20, of Dixon at 11:57 p.m. Friday on charges including drunk driving. Click here to read more on Pulaski County Daily News ...
