China Buffet
« on: March 07, 2007, 08:57:53 PM »
We got take out from there tonight.  The food was pretty darn tasty, and you get alot of food with the combination meal.  I don't see anyone but the heartiest appetite finishing off their combinations.
Some people are like Slinkies... Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I'd give my left arm to be ambidextrous...

we have tried a few here and we think the best are chopstix TAKEOUT/MENU or the buffet in Rolla near the college with a fountain out front (sorry cant remember the name right now) but the food was hot and pretty decent compared to the ones here at least!

My family and I have eaten there several times in the last 4yrs of living here.  We went there on Wednesday night, and my 9yr old, handed me the salt shaker and asked, "Hey Mom!  What are those black things in the salt?"  I looked in there, but had to hit the salt shaker on the table, because the salt was stuck together.  I was able to get a better look, and guess what?  THEY WERE BUGS!!

My husband took it up to the counter, and the owner came out to talk to him.  The owner poured all of it on the counter, and my husband clearly showed him they were bugs and told him our son almost poured that salt on his food!  The owner took the bugs and crushed them up between his fingers, and said, "That not bugs, that tea leaves!"  My husband told him, "Tea leaves, my ***, tea leaves don't have legs!  Now give me my money back!

He gave us half of our bill back, and we left.  I don't think I have ever seen my husband so mad!  He didn't apologize or anything!  He just wanted to make excuses!  Needless to say, we will no longer go back there.

I wasnt there to see what you saw... But I will just say this.  I waitressed all through college, and each of the two restaurants put something in their salt shakers.  One used rice, the other used something more round and black colored.  They use it to absorb the moisture in the salt so that it doesnt stick together and stick to the top of the shaker.  I am going to google tea leaves and see if they do the same thing...

I worked at a chinese place in college and they used some type of leaves in the salt. not doubting you. If it were bugs you should have received your money back

Ive never had a bad experience there, but its not my first choice when chosing chinese, i would rather go to chopstix, they do not use MSG which is awesome for my husband.

Wouldn't recommend dining in but the takeout is always fresh an hot! The eggrolls are awesum!
Again service is pretty bad they can easily be confused as customers themselves.

I have done both eat-in and take-out, this is my families favorite chinese joint in the area.

Alot of the time the take out is from the buffet. Just like if you were to go in and get it to go...you would get it from the buffet.

HAHA! I remember the time a dead dog was found in their dumpster and come to find out the guy had picked it up out of the road in front of the place and threw it away (lol).  Not using his head.
....and that night as the moon crossed the mountain, one more Coyote was heard...

What do they charge for it though, Chinda buffet was under 10 bucks for the buffet including the crab legs

Just a question,
Do they still allow smoking in there? I used to not be able to sit down and eat, because of the cigarette smoke. Unfortunately Cracker Barrel was gettigng the same way, before I left (temporarily). Waffel House..Forget about it! It really limits my choices in Missouri, being sensitive to cigarette smoke. The good news for me is there are a lot of states, moving toward no smoking in bars and restaurants, maybe Missouri is right behind them, I know St. Louis, and St. Louis County have already made the change. Will St. Robert and Waynesville be next? We'll see..
