Skelton, Peterson, Emerson sponsor joint resolution against EPA plans to begin regulating greenhouse gases

Congressman Ike Skelton
Skelton, Peterson, Emerson sponsor joint resolution against EPA plans to begin regulating greenhouse gases
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Feb. 25, 2010) — Today, Congressman Ike Skelton (D-Mo.), Congressman Collin C. Peterson (D-Minn.), and Congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson (R-Mo.) introduced a joint resolution in the House of Representatives to nullify the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) finding in December 2009 that greenhouse gases are a threat to human health and therefore could be regulated under the Clean Air Act. Under the Congressional Review Act of 1996, Congress has 60 legislative days to review a major rule under expedited legislative procedures and consider a resolution to disapprove of the rulemaking. Ike must see the handwriting on the wall and is now trying to be a good conservative so he doesn't get thrown out with the rest of the dishrags. I say, throw them ALL out, all the incumbents, and bring in new, fresh, honest blood!

Yet he voted for Cap and Tax.  I don't intend to vote for any incumbent this time around.  Only wish Claire was under fire too.

I think some statements here may be more than intended.

The people up for re-election this year include State Rep. David Day and Circuit Court Clerk Rachelle Beasley. Both are unopposed (at least so far). Should they be voted out of office because they are incumbents? If so, someone had better file against them before March 30.

I simply cannot concur with the position that every incumbent elected official needs to be voted out merely because they are incumbents. To cite an example who is **NOT** running for re-election, County Clerk Diana Linnenbringer won four years ago by one of the highest margins in the entire county and I know virtually nobody who thinks she did a bad job. County Commissioner Ricky Zweerink is right when he said that if she had run for re-election, she would have won easily with support from both Republicans and Democrats.

Let's evaluate people on a case-by-case basis. There are some good incumbents. There are some bad incumbents. And there are some incumbents who are doing a so-so job, but their opponents either have minimal experience or would be worse based on their track record.

I am speaking of the federal level Darrell.  My personal evaluation of the federal people is very low.  They have only a 10% approval rating nationwide.  These people are bankrupting the country and in the long run intend to bankrupt citizens individually.  Healthcare and cap and trade will be the final hurdles toward this end.  always voting the party line, especially for the flaming liberals is going to cause them to be fired.
