Huge Money Making Scam
Coyote:
This is not a question and I don't expect a response. I just want to mention what is happening to me. When we bought our house (VA approved) in 1999, it was 28 years old and located in Flood Zone C with no possibility of flooding. It is probably 50 feet above the nearest water. Then in 2006, it was put in Flood Zone X...which we were told meant that part of our property could flood, but it didn't effect the residence. We only found out because we got a 2nd mortgage to make improvements. Then this year we decided to refinance to save a lot of money and get it paid off faster. Now we're told by the mortgage company (Wells Fargo) that we were put in Zone A in 2008. But we were never told and now we are being FORCED to buy flood insurance for our house up on the hill has never and will never flood! Wells Fargo actually said, "either you purchase it or we will purchase it for you." So we submitted a request for a LOMA from FEMA and have hired an engineer to conduct an elevation survey and all this has to be submitted to Wells Fargo and FEMA for free. And if you read the fine print? It may or may not be acceptable to Wells Fargo even if the engineer and FEMA show that we are not in a flood zone. So we have to pay $1,000 plus $1500 a year in uneeded insurance. Go ahead and google some blogs and see that this is happening to Missouri residents all over the state. No one will come look at the house or even drive by. Who is getting rich by scamming honest citizens out of their hard earned money? Someone is.
David Day:
I am 99% sure that those are federal regulations. Everything you mentioned is a federal group and almost all banking regulations are federal.
I would suggest shooting a note to your member of congress or either (or both) of your U.S. Senators. They probably have some information on that or at least may be able to get you in contact with the correct person.
Sorry I am not more help.
Dave
Pete:
I thought for sure for a second this had something to do with Obama care. The feds are trying to take over all parts of our lives. School lunches, utility bills, now they have meters that will monitor you usage, at certain times if they wanted they could cut you off. We are going in the wrong direction.
