Putting up a mail box

I have to replace a mail box. Its on the slop of the side of the road. I dont have a hole digger :( My hubby is deployed and I have 2 kids . How in the world can i get this up ... Ugg I tried digging a hole and supporting it with cinder block. But it fell over. I dont know what to do

How deep was your hole? It may need to be 3 or so feet deep. You may have to try again when it dries out more.

It was a good size hole ..... LOL but its on such a slope that I cant get it to stand up. I was going to put it in a pail with rocks but the ditch is to steep :(
